"Hey, Eckhardt! Think about the future..."
Wale
So, who wants to go to Wale on February 23rd, 2010? What?! Whoa, whoa, whoa. Quit throwing your money at the computer screen, pervs. Not only will you get to see Wale, but thanks to GMan, Rizk and the good folks at Fortune Sound Club it’s free! As I am not jolly, fat or white, there is a catch. Only 4 of you mofos get to come free. Here’s the deal: I spoke of Wale and the show here. The first two people to comment below and include in their comment any 4 of the Wale songs I recommended in that article get my autograph. Oh, and a pair of tickets to the show, so they can bring a date. Or one of the voices in their head. Hey, we here at R2AK don’t discriminate. We hate all you mooks equally.
The Beatnuts
While we’re reminiscing, I also mentioned in passing here that The “World Famous” Beatnuts are coming to the home of the speaker system that will one day have us all in chains. That’s right. March 8th, 2010, my second home, Fortune Sound Club, will bring you JuJu & Psycho Les, celebrating their 20th year of courting women that can both scratch an itch and craft a sandwich. Pawn your brother’s PS3 and get your tickets at Clubzone, Livestock and Beat Street. Not ’cause you needed the money. ‘Cause he’s a dick.
P.O.S.
I don’t know a lot about P.O.S., but I’ll tell you what I do know. It originally stood for Pissed Off Stef. He’s from Minneapolis, home of infamous club First Avenue, home of Prince. He started out in a punk band and hated rap. Now, he’s a member of the Rhymesayers roster (think: Slug/Atmosphere, Brother Ali, etc.) and I bought his album ‘Never Better’ based solely on that fact. It’s good. Weird, but good. Some of it is great. All of it is envelope-pushing and experimental. One thing that remains consistent – dude can spit! I can’t wait to see him live, this Thursday Feb. 11, 2010 @ The Biltmore. If you were to hurry yourself, you may discover tickets that would admit you and your cherished ones to this gala event at Zulu, Red Cat, Beat Street or TicketWeb. If you miss this show, you’re a P.O.S. (Vanna, I’d like to solve the puzzle. Based on the hint given – losers that miss this show – the answer, when unabbreviated must be Piece Of Shit.)
At ease,
– Nuv
