3 new ways to distract yourself from doing any work!
Tree Connect – (iPhone & iPad) One part Dance Dance Revolution, one part Simon, one part button masher. Game play consists of a long bar, ranging from 15” to 3’ of colours. You can pick how many colours you want on the bar, starting at 2 and maxing out at 5. On the bottom of the screen are rectangles representing the colours to tap to make the bar progress forward. Tap the wrong colour, the game will hesitate for a moment, causing you to lose time. Accuracy is key as the game only progresses when you tap the correct colour presented on the bar. Once time is up, your score is posted on the OpenFeint servers along with Game Centre. While it may not sound like a very exciting game, I just sank an hour into it trying to get top of the worlds leader boards. A fun multiplayer version of the game is included also.
Super Mega Worm - (iPhone & iPad) Anyone familiar with the series of Tremors movies will be right at home with this gem. Presented in 8bit pixel art but with the fluidity of a modern title, Super Mega Worm lets you play the burrowing, flying, plasma shooting title beast bent on eating men, women, babies and airplanes without discretion. As you consume more flesh and destroy more civilian and military vehicles, your powers increase. The height and airtime you get when burring out of the ground, along with the ability to emanate an EMF pulse that slows down time in order for you to aim your plasma blasts await those who play through the multiple levels available. While the gameplay may be shallow and repetitive, it’s very satisfying in small doses.
Stock Wars – (iPhone & iPad) Imagine for a moment you suddenly came into $100,000 but the stipulation was that you must play it in the stock market. Welcome to Stock Wars. This no thrills title pulls real time data from the worlds stock markets and allows you to test your precognitive powers. You are ranked daily against the other players of the game. Brokerage fees are a thing of the past in this games universe, but detailed information and real world news in regards to the stock market and the specific stock you are investing in is displayed in the game just as it would in an actual stock market ticker. An entertaining distraction.
