Happy holidays!
Tis the season to spend some hard earned cash on some high-tech goodies for yourself or loved ones. Here you will find (from costliest to cheapest) a collection of gifts that any gamer or geek will love to see under their non-denominational gift holder.

An opportunity to own one of these presented itself while I was waiting in the main terminal of the Las Vegas Airport. The decision to purchase and take home involved me leaving all my carry on luggage abandoned in the men’s washroom. The sheer bad-assness of an iPhone controlled quadracopter was almost too much for my weak minded will power. Thankfully cooler heads prevailed and I came home with luggage in tow. Recently updated with a augmented reality game to go along with the iPhone controlled camera, this is a must have for any card-carrying alpha geek.

Sometimes when look at my analogue watch it still takes me a moment to figure out exactly what time it is. With smart phones the human race seems to have reverted back to a pocket watch society. Leave it to a Japanese company to merge the old with the new in their line of LED watches. More style over substance, their collection would look at home in any Tron inspired universe. A guaranteed head turner on your wrist width models starting under $100.00

Star Wars Lego Minifig Alarm Clock

I’m pretty certain that I will be getting one of these for Christmas. Looking around my room of doom, I can count 6 different Darth Vader marked pieces of memorabilia. From a extra-extra-extra large PEZ dispenser that utters the Imperial March when opened, to an animatronic Darth Vader piggy bank that let’s you know how most impressive you are with every coin drop, only to remind you that you are not a Jedi yet. I opted (requested) for a Storm Trooper one to add some variety to the mix.

One of the final nails in the brick and mortar video store coffins comes from Netflix. Already a success in the USA, Netflix has brought their movie streaming service to the great white north. Instant access to a video stores worth of content for $7.99 a month seems to have struck the right cord with customers, as their stock has gone up $150 since this time last year. Anyone with an AppleTV, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, iPhone, iPod Touch, PC or Mac can have access where ever internet is available. For those of you with multiple devices in a house, Netflix allows you to activate up to 6 devices per monthly subscription. While the selection may not be as fantastic as the US side, this happens to every company in the early days of their Canadian media distribution days. If you ever have a hankering to watch the first 3 seasons of Mad Men, they are also available.
