Hmph. Not checking in after a noteworthy mission? Not very professional. Especially if they’ve run into such massive mechanical failures, and they just decide THEMSELVES to stay put? No calling into HQ for permission/ further orders? Or perhaps not calling in was an intentional slight? Do they have a disrespect for HQ? Perhaps it was a matter of “easier to get forgiveness than permission”? Still, not professional or respectful of the chain of command, I’d say.
